Dan Stone, M.S. is the founder of 360Village.com, an online marketing consulting firm in the San Francisco Bay Area. Since 1998 he has worked with small business
owners across the U.S. to help them market themselves effectively online. An accomplished Web site developer, workshop leader, and professional photographer, Dan's clients gain from his ability to
communicate technical concepts in non-technical terms.
Web Site Marketing Essentials is his second book on a technical subject for a less-than-technical audience. The first book, an eBook first sold online in 1997 entitled
An Econometrics Help & How To Guide, has sold hundreds of copies to students and faculty in over two dozen countries.
Dan earned an interdisciplinary Master's degree in Environmental Economics from San Diego State University in 1995. He did his undergraduate work at U.C. San Diego where he graduated in 1990 with a double-major in Economics and Urban Studies & Planning. He worked in both the public and private sectors doing environmental, economic and urban planning before transitioning into the Internet realm in 1997 while working for the Association of Bay Area Governments in Oakland, California. As the dot-com boom got underway, he left to start his own consulting practice.
Dan is recognized as an industry-leading photographer in the Total 360° image format (for virtual tours). In 2002, Internet Pictures Corporation (IPIX) profiled one dozen of the top virtual tour photographers in the world and included Dan in that group. His still photography is also well-regarded and his landscape photography has been displayed in juried exhibitions.
